ABOUT US
We are a committee of local residents dedicated to working towards the creation of a Minisink Valley Public Library:
-
Community representatives from Minisink, Wawayanda, Greenville, and Mount Hope.
-
Minisink Valley Central School District Librarians
-
Greenville Resource Center Board Members
History
In 2004, Thrall Library in Middletown no longer served the Minisink Valley area.
The Greenville Resource Center was created in April 2004 and gave Greenville residents access to limited reading material, DVDs, and music.
In 2017, the school librarians of the Minisink Valley Central School District had become increasingly disheartened by the fact that there is not a legitimate public library and librarian to serve the community.
MVCSD Librarians met with the Greenville Resource Center Board, along with representatives from Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library System, and the Ramapo Catskill (Public) Library System. The Minisink Valley Public Library Initiative was born.
