The Minisink Valley Public Library Initiative aims to gain equal access for all residents within the Minisink Valley Central School District. Minisink Valley spans 115 square miles, and the Minisink Valley Central School District supports five school library collections staffed by five certified School Library Media Specialists and six library clerks.

For many families, the school library has been their only access to free reading materials, internet access, and homework help. MVCSD families that do not have students enrolled in school do not currently have access to their OWN community library. The MVCSD is the only district in Orange County without its OWN public library.

Over the years, many of our neighbors have begun to express that a public library would be the heart of our community and an important hub to exchange information and ideas while serving the many needs of our population. The MVPL will provide the resources and services to help people of every age, ethnicity, and income level. Together, we can make a difference -investing in our community by creating the Minisink Valley Public Library.
